Ivanka Trump - no better than her dumb father
A regime that locks up women unjustly deserves scorn – not praise.Ivanka Trump, daughter of the US president and wife of the Middle East “expert” Jared Kushner (he who has supposedly produced a Middle East “peace plan” to be revealed after Benjamin Netanyahu wins the Israeli elections) has just given her support to a regime which has locked up women political prisoners, “disappeared” others, and whose army forcibly carried out virginity tests on female protesters during the Tahrir Square revolution.
Well, what more do you expect from the Trump menagerie?
She has backed the regime which locked up women’s rights campaigner Amal Fathy.
She overlooks torture; police beatings and rapings in police cells; sexual abuse of women prisoners.
Not a word about 500 Egyptian female students chucked out of their universities for political reasons.

Could be because Sisi has ,in the last couple of weeks, been involved in mediation between Israel and Gaza.Maybe it's a political move and the Trumps will gain all the gratitude for something they didn't actually have anything to do with. i.e. if a peace process is achieved.
Apart from that she's been raised in a glass case and Egypt is too removed from the best hair and beauty salons and cat walks.

I rather like this POTUS.Admittedly he is politically gauche but he is facing a crypto-Socialists opposition who have told the most awful lies to and about him but his greatest failing is that he is politically incorrect and that is a good thing.
As for Egypt, it is entirely wrong to judge how the Egyptian government are dealing with the opposition and highly active fifth columnists in Egypt using western standards.
