Magnificent animals, so very similar to the elephants which are now reducing in number to the point of extinction due to poaching for their tusks.

The photographs reminded me of recent stories about creating the mammoth again from frozen DNA. See link below. Should this happen then let's hope poaching has been stopped by then or they could go the same way as other species hunted for their worth.

Re: Last of the Super Tuskers

Hi

I am in awe of such magnificent creatures.

I could never hurt one.

I am a carnivore, I eat meat, I could never kill anything for sport, it disgusts me.

I only take what I need to eat.

Human with a high powered rifle is not sport or bravery, it is slaughter of something which is inedible.

It is totally wrong.

You are not brave or heroic, you are nothing special at all.

If you want to prove yourself go up against a tiger or an elephant with a knife, see how far you get.

I love tracking down Tigers in the wild, I could never hurt one.

Trophy Hunters who kill animals for sport are scum.

Such a magnificent animal, though I can’t help thinking those long tusks must have been a hindrance to her...

Re: Last of the Super Tuskers

Unfortunately elephants are being killed so young the ones with big tusks don't get a chance to breed so this may be the end for the super tusker.

I think Mups posted something on this but I couldn't find it .
