Apart from the irish issue which will rip any leaving to pieces, the withdrawal deal will keep you bound to the EU for decades, without the UK having a say in future rules. I think we can agree to that.

You could leave without a deal, but your HoC ruled it out. Nevertheless, it is still a possibility.

To do any trade of volume, you need the EU. The usa will not trade with the UK if the irish question is open. Before the EU talks business, the withdrawal deal must be ratified. Back to the first argument.

You will never leave!

We all thought it was the end of it, when the majority of the votes were leave at the last referendum! Anybody who chose not to vote, or couldn't be bothered, lost their chance to participate.

The real reason that we have not already left is because it doesn't suit many politicians, who all seem to have unconnected reasons to stop us leaving.

Corbyn & his supporters view this as an opportunity to win an election, where changing their leader would be more likely to achieve that.

Many wealthy Tories are more likely interested in keeping their fortunes safe, rather than doing as the public voted. There are also a number of them who are hoping to get the PM position.

There was a majority vote to leave, and all politicians had a vote like the rest of us, so we should be out by now if they had done the job they are paid to do, rather than trying to further their own careers

Let me help you out

[Sarcasm]Glad to see you coming round to respecting the vote of the 52% majority though, well within your parameters[/Sarcasm]

Re: Second Referendum etc.

There's an act of parliament that makes it UK law that we leave the EU on October 31st 2019 unless a withdrawal agreement can be approved beforehand, enabling us to leave before 23rd May 2019.

Why do remainers have a problem with the 2016 EU Referendum only being advisory when we have an act of parliament backing up the result of it ?

We don't need a second referendum to make it legally binding, we already have an act of parliament in place.

We left the EU in 2016.
There's no way back now.
The Irish issue has been overplayed by the EU.Everyone realises that now because they will not put up a hard border. The EU have stated that clearly and stated they would find alternative arrangements in the event of No Deal........so if they can do that for No Deal!!!!!!!!

The USA won't put Irish issues above UK trade issues. They are too pragmatic for that.

The EU are running out of bargaining chips!

US Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has begun an official visit to the Republic of Ireland.
Speaking on the eve of her visit, she said there would be "no chance whatsoever" of a post-Brexit trade deal between the US and UK if there were any weakening of the Good Friday Agreement.

First of all it is very hard to pass a trade bill in the Congress of the United States, so it's no given any way," she told her audience.

"But if there were any weakening of the Good Friday accords, there would be no chance whatsoever, a non-starter for a US-UK trade agreement.

Getting memory problems? Korsakov could be the explaining ailment.
In december last year I already stated that the referendum was legal, due to the HoC decision to invoke A50. That doesn't make it a smart move, as you well know.

Re: Second Referendum etc.

This is particularly down to the SDP and Ian Blackford who weekly, at Prime Ministers Questions, asks the same question. He has done for the last 12 months and continues to bat on and on about it. He gets that same answer every week, but as Scotland do not want to leave the EU, then it's the SDP who should be calling another referendum for Scotland in the near future. They got a negative last time, so maybe they can come up with an alternative result next time.
It's also an oddity that although he constantly refers to the Government of having a bad deal and it's not worth the paper it's written on and they should have had something in the pipeline before the referendum..... Scotland didn't have any ' agenda ' in place prior to their own referendum on whether to stay or leave the rest of Britain.
Let them break away and stay in the EU, but have they got anything in place for such ? Doubt it very much.
We don't want a second referendum, and neither do we need one. We voted out.... with all the warts and all.. End of and it should be honoured.

Re: Second Referendum etc.

So you implying that people didn't know what they were doing first time around?
That's rather patronising.
