Town or Country dweller?

Where do we all live?

You don't have to specify the actual place but how many of us are townies and how many are country folk?

Re: Town or Country dweller?

mmm, I'm not sure where to cast my vote
I live in a tiny town which is nevertheless a market town - 9000 population but all the shops, all the banks and services etc for the surrounding villages. I'm sure city folk would describe it as a village and it's certainly not a town like, err, say Andover or Preston or somewhere like that.
I live on the edge, so can walk to the centre to shops, restaurants, etc in about 12 minutes. But I also walk through unspoilt woods 10 minutes from my door and can get to 'un-street-lamp-lit' areas to see the stars in 2.

I'll wait for advice as to posting - I think you may think 'village'

I voted suburbs but not of a large city, just a smallish town, easy to get groceries but near enough to escape to the countryside.

I'm in a large city, but 2 blocks away from the woods, and walking distance to the commercial strip in the neighborhood, which is close and has a bit of a small town ambience.

I don't really fit in any category so voted forest, we have forest on 3 sides and farmland to the other, more of a hamlet I suppose, only three families here.

Ah, so it's you and me in the forest How big is your hamlet ? Ours has a resident population of 5 (7 if you count the dogs!)

Unfortunately we get the weekenders descend on us which brings the population up to about 19 on Sat & Sun.

Re: Town or Country dweller?

I live in a suburb but close to a small city. I was brought up in Chicago and still call it home and love to visit but would not want to live there now. I think I would love country life as well and it would be nice to have the ability to have more than just one dog. Of course the town I live in doesn't allow just one dog, it's the building where I live.
