What would you miss?

Just had a power cut for a couple of hours which prompted me to think about what we take for granted.

I could be really modern and say I miss t'internet, but the thing I missed (for those couple of hours) was light!!!

It wasn't light enough to read or do anything really with the few candles I could muster so basically I was stuck with nothing to do.

So, what would you miss if it was no longer there?

We lose power often, so we're pretty prepared!
Have a number of propane lanterns - so have light.
Have a big woodstove - so have heat and a cooking surface.
The one thing we really miss, if we're caught unawares, is water. We're on a well, and when that power goes, there's no pump working! So no water out of the faucets, and no flushing the toilet either!
We usually try to keep our numerous water containers full, but one year had to resort to melting snow on the woodstove - which is a very slow process!

Power! That includes lights, computer, land line and the boiler! I have candles, oil lamp, cell phone, but couldn't heat any water for the hot water bottle!

Water could be a problem when you don't have it - especially the loo

Re: What would you miss?

Apart from the obvious ones like food, clean water, sanitation, electricity etc I think it would have to be internet, car (to visit family/shopping etc), telephone (to contact people) and M&S

Having no power for a while a few months back wasn't so bad as oh and myself had a game of scrabble. When you are with someone you like to be with you can be short of almost anything. I know the answer to this one without a doubt it is Him in doors.
