Re: Lose 5 lbs to save the NHS.

Basically we eat too much food .
We only have to stop eating and we will lose weight.
No fat people came out of concentration camps.

It's always best to lead by example.

And with Boris's weight, I'm not surprised he's leaning.

I don't think Boris is obese though, just heavily built....
I think he tries to keep fit, and doesn't he cycle to work?
He's in that sort of job where he's sat on his arse most of the time. Even I put on a stone when I became a courier and drove all day for a living. Soon lost it though when I became a postman.

The obese were the ones in the dock at the Nuremberg trials.

He is /was obese and has been on a strict diet since his illness. He has made comments about this. You can see his weight loss recently.

Unhealthy ready meals and sweets should cost more and people would buy less of them. But it's really the takeaways you have to target because they do not have calories/fat/salt etc printed on every order. They say posh sandwiches can be just as bad particularly those deli sandwich shops where they slather it on.

The Government are on about excess weight, not food standards in general so, this is all about calories. A Cheeseburger contains 300 calories which is ball park 15% of a Ladies calorie RDI, or 12.5% of a gentleman's, if this was substituted for a main meal, it could be argued that the person was on a calorie controlled diet.

The trouble is; If you price burgers and fast food out of the market where are all the jobs for the failed university students and young unemployed going to come from.....? Not to mention the army of fast food delivery guys on their mopeds and beat up Clio's.....

Were you ever bitten by a dog?

If so, would the hapless hound have realised it was chewing on an old grey fox?

Ha ha yes..... A couple of times while out delivering the post and once when I ran past a farm and the resident collie fancied a thigh.....
