Game of Thrones? Seriously.
Us posh folk know that Baddiel is pronounced "Bladdy 'ell)

He was christened, with that name, after slipping through his mother's fingers at his Christening!

Re: British Asians' Knowledge of Our "Popular Culture".

When l think of David Baddiel, Satirist immediately comes to my mind, a man with black hair and black glasses.
When l hear the name Danny Baker, l think Cockney market trader or London taxi driver! He’s neither but he looks like one of them. I remember, he first turned up on a television show many years ago and has risen ever since.

The presenter, Maajid Nawaz? The name doesn’t ring a bell. I don’t watch Pointless, so l can’t comment on that.

I like Romesh Ranganathan, he’s funny.

That IS weird. Not knowing Game of Thrones is a TV show.

But if you shut yourself off from the media and internet it clearly would be possible not to know.

I found out about game of thrones in 2013 by word of mouth. It's on a subscription channel many don't have. If you don't watch it then you won't be interested in media reports. It's not accessible to all because there is a cost for each season.

If knowing about British culture is determined by knowing about such people then something has gone seriously wrong.
