Re: Have You Ever Given Someone The Wrong Directions?

For some reason, some people ask me for directions,

I patiently give them the directions, they then go on their way.

I have given wrong directions, but never on purpose.

Hopefully you aren't left-handed, though.

Luckily I'm right handed or else I would be back to square one again wouldn't I!

I can't wait now for someone to ask directions ... in fact I might even accost someone to give them directions whether they want them or not so that I can try out my new skill

If it was a long time ago, it was probably AT.

Not on purpose Art no..
But I did describe to one family how to get to a village they were looking for by car.
I realised later it was completely the wrong one but sounded similar!

I felt ashamed for a whole day

Come to think of it, I did something similar, too!

Some places have villages that all start with the same first names, but then have a different second name, you know, like Misomer Worthy, Midsomer Newton, Midsomer Mallow, and that's what happened to me!

I was telling a friend about a village that was having its biennial street fair, out in the sticks, and I told her the name of the village, and said I'd meet her there, but I'd said the wrong one.

Luckily, she asked someone in the wrong village, and they put her right. She wasn't best pleased, though, as the one she'd gone to was quite a way further on.

Re: Have You Ever Given Someone The Wrong Directions?

I remember once when my children were younger, we were taking them to Alton Towers Theme Park. There were no satnavs in those days.
My husband was driving and we got a bit lost so he stopped to ask someone.
My husband slowed down to ask a youngish man where we needed to go. The man bent down to the window and his face was very close to my husband’s face. He must have had a slight speech impediment because every time he said, the word Uttoxeter, his mouth frothed and he sprayed spit straight into my husband’s face.

We still got lost and ended up in another place called, Alton that was miles away.
