Re: Parkinson's Awareness Week 2013

Like Hazel said Robert, your doing great and never give up, I echo that. I don't know anyone with Parkinson's (barring your good self) so thanks for making me aware of how it affects people.

Re: Parkinson's Awareness Week 2013

I was diagnosed with PARKINSONS 18 years ago aged 47. THe Dr said I must have had it for at least 3 years already. I was in a way fortunate that it was in an advanced stage because sometimes an accurate diagnosis only comes after a long process of elimination.
I am also fortunate (I think) that it has progressed less quickly than I was advised. Although today its a pig.

THANK YOU everyone who has taken probably considerable time in typing thoughtful replies..

I have a robust reaction to PD, and although I can do less & less, I fight it every week, every day & every hour. I get weary sometimes but have been blessed with a positive view of life & all it throws at us.

I'm an old fart really, but kind and generous, oh . and vain.

When referring to oneself my good sir - there is no such thing as vanity, just acknowledgement of outstanding personal qualities that others may overlook

I remember once saying to a doctor that I thought I had sounded like I was blowing my own trumpet and he said 'Karen - there's nothing wrong with blowing your own trumpet; after all, who knows the tune better than you do'!
