Get a grip.

A study published says that a weaker grip carries a higher risk of strokes and heart failure.
I do believe this, as some years my DOC asked me to sqeeze his hand as tight as possible. Afterwards he said you should be okay as you have a very strong grip.

Working in a hospital ward, I hear doctors every day asking patients to squeeze their hands. It is important.

Re: Get a grip.

Mine has deteriorated and now i often need to use one of those devices to loosen tops from jars. Mine is certainly down to my job though other issues dont help. Im left feeling less of a man because of it.

Re: Get a grip.

I’ve been gripping pliers in me hands all my working life and the result is I have a grip like a vice. Very useful for climbing up the drainpipe when she locks me out, Spiderman has nothing on me.

Oh good! Luckily I have always had a grip that makes people wince when I get a bit over-enthusiastic when I shake hands.

Re: Get a grip.

I am getting a bit of arthritis in my thumbs now, and they do ache some days, but so far, I think my grip is still fairly good.
