Mid-60's to Mid-70s.A fair mix of music to suit all tastes in the charts then. My preference was R&B, The Doors, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, David Bowie, and progressive bands like Deep Purple, Led Zepplin, and Hawkwind. 73-onwards saw the advent of crap (IMO) like Bay City Rollers and Mud. Luckily, music readjusted itself to something half decent from 1978 into the 80s.

You don't hear many old folk raving about the 90s but ....
Blur, Oasis, Stone Roses, Suede, REM, Nirvana, Travis, The Verve, Stereophonics, Radiohead .... Brit Pop 'n Grunge.

The 70s as a decade....all grown up, married and on our own, had my two kids, making adult decisions that no one could fault, bought our first new home, and the music.....oh, yeah. Of course, the 60s music and Motown might be the a close second.
