So, the music made the decade! Nice stuff! Not heavy metal? Def Leppard, AC/DC, Aerosmith?
Not really. More progressive stuff and what I class as `heavy rock`. Compare those with the likes of Black Sabbath and there's no contest. Having said that, I've seen AC/DC live twice, they put on a good show.
A fair mix of music to suit all tastes in the charts then. My preference was R&B, The Doors, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, David Bowie, and progressive bands like Deep Purple, Led Zepplin, and Hawkwind. 73-onwards saw the advent of crap (IMO) like Bay City Rollers and Mud. Luckily, music readjusted itself to something half decent from 1978 into the 80s.
I know I have a silly SOH but this never fails to make me giggle.

Yeah, you’re right - it’s more rock than heavy metal like Metallica.
You were privileged to see AC/DC

Help Ma Boab, you'll be praising Racy, the Rubettes, and Gary Glitter next. The Sweet were saved by dint of having decent `b` sides on their records which showed their rock 'n' roll roots.
