Heathrow used to be great until the early 70's. Then the rot set in. By the mid 80's it became an absolute crap hole. By the late 90's I've been using Schiphol as a hub whenever possible. It's often less expensive to fly East before flying West or South West.

CDG is a close second to Schiphol but Heathrow isn't even on the same page.

Southend is better (and that's saying something!)

Terminal 3 at Thiefrow was a shitehole when I used to fly from there to KL for business reasons (never in business class though).

I'm not worried about Heathrow or any other British airport being the busiest. Less flights, less people, less pollution. That sounds good to me.

We don't need a hub airport anyway, they are too expensive to operate when there are routes that hardly anyone uses.
