Geoffrey Hughes

Sad to see that Geoffrey Hughes has died at the age of 68.

He was best known to all Coronation Street fans as bin man Eddie Yates back in the 70's and 80's but he was a regular as Onslow, in Keeping up Appearances and as Twiggy, in the Royle Family.
He was also kept busy by many other popular TV shows over the years, The Likely lads and Z cars to name but two.

Another gone far too soon.

I always liked him. Remember him fondly in Coronation street when it was a proper warm and funny soap, not like the nutjob its become now. Never seemed to worry about his size, just perfect for that lovable slob Onslow. The scary thing is, he was only a couple of months older than yours truly. Gulp!

Very sad, I liked him very much. Whatever he was in his acting was always good. I remember him being in Heartbeat too.

I heard it on the news as well and very sorry to hear this as I remember him well in Corrie.

Sixty-eight is much too young. I enjoyed Onslow's character in Keeping up Appearances though I don't know his other roles.

Yes what a shame,he was Minnie Caldwells lodger I think. I liked him as Onslow too.

Geoffrey Hughes was a talented and natural actor who will be missed. I did laugh when they were laying laminate in the Royals programme.

Very sad to hear of his loss. We were watching him this morning on a repeat of Heartbeat. Liked him as Onslow too.
