I have put the “ wind up” quite a few people in the past as they have also done to me.

If you put the wind up someone, it’s usually because they have upset you.

It means who ever you are putting the wind up.

They have usually made you angry or upset.

The veterinary nurse put the phone down on me a few weeks back...,so I phoned back told her colleague blah,blah , blah...that I was going to report her , asked the colleague her name, told her what I was about to do.

I hope it put the wind up her!!....which I’m sure the colleague would have relayed my message back to her.( the one who upset me)

There seems to be some difference of opinion. Some say it does NOT mean angry/up set. Some say scared or worried. Hmm ??

It would have been better all round if he had got the wind out, we openly wind Babies but we don't wind adults, as adults we stand off when there is any wind about, why is that?

Because babies wind is cute and they always look so surprised. Adults are just stinky.

There has always been wind hypocrisy, who's seen the wind, not you or I.
