Could A Swollen Eye Be A Reaction To The Flu Injection?

My friend had his annual flu injection about 10 days ago. One of his eyes has swollen up and he thinks it has been caused by pollen from some flowers he was carrying.
I wondered if maybe he was having an allergic reaction to the flu injection, so l googled it and this is one of the reactions.
He still thinks it’s a reaction to the pollen.

Has anyone else ever suffered a swollen eye/eyes after the flu injection?

I've never had a problem following a flu jab.

The only reaction I have had is feeling tired after the jab but it only lasted for one evening. I doubt though that carrying flowers would cause a swollen eye. More likely to be a stye I would think.

No but I did have a similar problem with one eye earlier this year and from cutting back some infected leylandii branches.

But your friend should speak to a doctor. Is his vision affected?
