'Dont Cap My Benefits'

The above is a docu which will be shown Thursday evening at 9pm BBC1.
I have decided not to watch this one - its sure to upset me.
If any one here decides to watch this, I would be interested in your views. Just putting this on now, while I think of it .... Thanks

Re: 'Dont Cap My Benefits'

I live in a street where people own their own homes, they go to work and the neighbourhood is peaceful. Some peeps have rented their homes out.
I live next to one of these rented houses and you get Benefit Street living
next door to you. The Police are here on and off nearly every week. The mouth on the fishwife is terrible, she calls herself a crack head he comes and beats her up now and again and the Police come again to the "victim" as she calls herself. Even though she lets him in. They wake you up in the middle of the night chasing each other around the house that has no carpets on the floor.
I wont be watching that programme the same as I never watched Benefit Street. Having worked on and off for 45 years I could put them on a deserted Island and say survive if you can. That's my moan thanks for listening

I have me moments of feeling that way Sandy - then I come to me senses. So many people are in this position that you would happily live next door to, maybe you should watch 'this' programme .......

Re: 'Dont Cap My Benefits'

My son and d-in-law own their own house, now mortgage free but next door to them is a rented house where a single mum and her 3 children live. She is on benefits but regularly gets pizzas delivered and even gets a taxi home from the local supermarket each week. It is within walking distance away. My son gets really annoyed at this. She also smokes like a chimney.

Thank you folks, I'm on DLA through no fault of my own having worked and brought up my children practically single handed! I'm beginning to see what the Americans mean!

Ok, who's able to watch this without screaming abuse at the telly, and/or groaning in sheer frustration?!!!!
