Just watched Boris's speech today , he want even more distancing between folks .
I will be cancelling our Dental appointments in May.
As you say Zuleika, it's a bit too close for comfort at the moment.

Mr Mags has a hospital appointment for his Glaucoma in May, not sure yet what is going to happen about that. It is about 4-5 miles away and he won't be allowed to drive there and back and I don't drive, we won't be able to use buses and I'm not sure I would trust the cleanliness of a taxi.

Galty, l wondered that but originally when l was diagnosed with Pernicious Anaemia, they told me the reason l have a Vitamin B12 deficiency is because l can’t absorb it in my stomach.

So l don’t know?

I also have pernicious anaemia and we need B12 injections because as you say we cannot absorb it in our stomachs. I get mine every 12 weeks. I can always tell when I'm due because I'm extremely and overwhelmingly tired

LQ, l also have mine done every 12weeks. I’m not too bad around the time it’s due.
It’s supposed to be hereditary and l remember my mother saying years ago that it was in the family. Are you of Irish descent as a lot of Irish people seem to have it.

No, I'm not Irish, I don't have anyone in my family who has it either as far as I know. I had never heard of it until I was diagnosed.

Re: Surgery and Appointments

The surgery have just rung me and said, not to worry, my B12 injection appointment will still go ahead on the date it’s booked.

Cor, that’s a relief!

Re: Surgery and Appointments

I had a worrying message from the GP to say in view of the worsening situation in the West Midlands ( we have had deaths locally) the surgery doors are being locked from this morning and emergency telephone appointments only will be queued and triaged .

Better news on prescriptions, for a set couple of hours each day, patients can drive into the car park where a gowned and masked member of staff will take your name and deliver the prescription to the car. No early ordering of prescriptions are allowed a date is given when they can be ordered online.

Re: Surgery and Appointments

I received a letter today from my local hospital regarding my scheduled venesection (blood-letting) for haemochromatosis - postponed until July.

Luckily, my latest blood-test showed low iron levels so there's no immediate necessity .....
