Re: Germany

OH has been visiting for many years. Nowadays..my daughter and I go shopping once a month in Papenburg and every Christmas we go to the Christmas market in one of the cities near the Dutch border because it gives us a very home from home feeling.

Re: Germany

Hi

I have nothing against Germany as such, just never bothered, it has always been a place just to belt across the Autobahn at nights at high speed.

I love the Netherlands and the Dutch people, perhaps I should try Germany.

Try the north its nice... When OH worked in Munich he was spat on in the street and called Jude (Jew).. In the northern cities like Bremen and Hamburg no trouble at all.

As young men in the 80s.....we'd often torment the sentry(s)in the watch towers along the border.

Mooning.....was one particular activity that drew the most abuse.

I've never had any problems anywhere in Germany, whether Munich or elsewhere.

I like Holland too. Lots of historical organs!
