The mind boggles

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-humber-13987155

Is this being childish or is it politics out of hand?

She should have offered to pay for the tarmac and labour if the road was private and belonged to them. Daft, of course, to spend more money taking it up, but she shouldn't have asked the workmen to do it in the first place.

Re: The mind boggles

I know the neighbours should have been asked first but maybe it would have to go through the planning process and we all know how long that takes, I think the MP saw an opportunity of getting some left over tarmac and (as he thought) putting it to good use, now the neighbours don't want it. I think it will be a long time before he jumps the gun again.

I just think it is childish, how are we supposed to get the country right if we can not agree about free improvements.

Typical Tory, trying to gain personal benefit without paying for it and riding rough-shod over local residents objections.

Joe, it was the wife who asked for it to be done not the MP. How is ir riding rough - shod whe it is trying to improve conditions for everyone or are we not supposed to try to help each other?

But that is precisely why its being taken up, because the other local residents didn't want it in the first place (and it sees they weren't even consulted) and she (and her husband) hadn't paid the council to have the road surface laid to their home.

Re: The mind boggles

Think the BBC headline shows a bias as it was his wife who asked.

THis is what was reported she said.

Mr Stuart, the Conservative MP for Beverley and Holderness, said his wife had "told a workman that if they had any spare tarmac they would be welcome to put it in the potholes of Seven Corners Lane.

If he was a real Man he'd take the rap himself and not involve the Wife.

Looks like you are one of the people to fall for the left wing bias of the BBC.

As was reported HIS WIFE asked the contractors.

They then asked him and not his wife the reason why this happened.

Disgusting bit of far left propaganda.

Bottom line HIS WIFE ASKED.
