I always sleep badly too Baz, whatever the weather. I wake at least twice in the night for a loo visit, and sometimes as many as 6 times. I've forgotten what it's like to have a solid, continuous 8 hours of sleep. That would be bliss!

It helps in this weather to get up if you wake up hot and run your wrists under the cold tap .

Hi Bathsheba I think it helps and it feels good ...
Yes I did it last night on 2 or 3 occasions when I had to visit the bathroom.
