Re: Racism

[QUOTE=Dextrous63;2127711]It just seems to me that if you want to be treated as an equal, highlighting a somewhat obvious difference is a bit of a funny way of going about it.

Consider the two statements:

1/. I am a man, so give me that job

2/. I am a black man, so give me that job.

Deleted because I wasn’t understanding the question properly.

There is no emotion in those words.....words without emotion imo.

Do you feel a different sense of emotion for either one? Which one would you consider less antagonistic?
Option 2 is race baiting.

Re: Racism

Racism isn't just a white/black thing. Consider this:

Today the daughter of a very recently deceased friend went to her mother's house to get it ready for sale. The next door neighbour (a Hindu) came out to tell J not to sell it to a Muslim or else very much intimating that he'd get the boys round. Now this Hindu family was really good to our friend over the years and were generally seen as being very friendly and courteous but what a tosser he's turned out to be.

J told him to clear off, not to make threats or else PC Plod will be involved, and in any case, she'll sell to the 1st person that can proceed with the purchase irrespective of race, colour, creed, etc.

Re: Racism

That's terrible Percy.

You are, of course correct in your opening sentence. Think it's a simplistic metaphor were using on here and kinda keeping to the Rashford story.
