What was the first song you heard on the radio?

For me it's either Snoopy vs. The Red Baron by The Royal Guardsmen or Winchester Cathedral by The New Vaudeville Band. Both songs were from 1966 and I was four years old.

Wish I knew ... the first song I recall 'singing', was 'Woman in Love' by Frankie Laine - I still play it every week-end .....
I was only a little girl BTW ....

The earliest I can remember is "How Much is that Doggie in the Window?" by Lita Rosa. I must have been about 5 at the time.

Radio was on constantly from when I was a baby so goodness only knows what I can guarantee it was on radio two though.

I can remember my mother playing "So deep is the night" sung by Paul Robson on our huge radiogram.

My older cousin often babysat us as kids and she loved the radio, used to have it blasting away, she was Dickie Valentine mad and when he sang 'The Finger of Suspicion" she went wild, that song always stayed with me and I still remember the words.

Hubbs made me larf - as a boy he took the lyrics 'very' seriously.....
In the Garden of Eden - Frankie Vaughan says he'll 'leave her there' - Hubbs was very upset by that !
Then Dean Martin - 'Memories are made of this' and the line - 2 little kids for the flavour - Hubbs would run outa the room

I honestly cannot remember the first. The radio was always on (we didn't have TV in those days) and remember Workers' Playtime and Music While you Work.

Songs that stick out in my mind as being memorable were Speedy Gonzales and Come Outside.
