Great Food in Cornwall (and cheap!)

If anyone is travelling in Cornwall and fancies a good meal, try Chapel Street Brasserie in Penzance. We are just back from a long weekend in Lamorna and found a couple of jewels in Cornwall's culinary crown. The Brasserie has great staff, great service and wonderful food. I had the most delicious Seafood Linguini and Terry, my wife had the most tasty Beef Bourgignon. With drinks, pudding and a brilliant jazz duo playing standards in the background, we got change from £40. http://www.chapelstbrasserie.com/bar/

On our way back yesterday we detoured down to Falmouth to visit a Cafe where we had had a lovely breakfast two years ago. We arrived too late for breakfast but opted for lunch instead. Glad we did - it was sublime. I had panfried Sea Bream with New Potatoes, Sundried Tomatoes and Asparagus, and Terry had Newlyn Crab & Crayfish Linguini in a Chili and Parmesan sauce. All the fish and seafood had been caught that morning and you could really tell. With drinks all we paid was £23 - what a bargain.
The Cafe is called Gylly Beach Cafe and is on Cliff Road, Falmouth. http://www.gyllybeach.com/

Thanks for the recommendations, Mick - we often used to holiday in Cornwall when I was younger ..... in fact Lamorna Cove used to be my mother's favourite place, it was full of charm.

I love it down there. Driving along the coast road from Penzance into Newlyn always feels like coming home.
This is the place we stayed - again, highly recomended. Phil and Zoe are the prefect hosts - always around if you need them, invisible if you don't.
