Thanks.

I don't think Farage is so imperceptive as to fall for that.

I'm sure that when the next GE comes along, and assuming that the Brexit Party stands (and I sincerely hope they do), I'm sure that their policies or manifesto will be published. The common accusation is that the BP is a 'one trick pony', and this is true to an extent: their aim at present is to secure our freedom from rule by the EU. However, if they are standing for Parliament, they will undoubtedly have formulated a manifesto and, importantly, I have more confidence in their remaining true to that than do the other political parties, which is clearly evidential.

Just when they thought it was all over, into the penalty area rushes Nigel, ball at his feet, not a defender in site.

The crowd cheers, ecstatically, although they know that he might miss, but, at least, he's having a shot at the goal they are, mostly, wishing for.

Hi

Well the bookies were wrong, Labour held.

I was hoping that both Labour and Tories got a drubbing and be well down the list.

Peterborough by-election: Labour beats Brexit Party to hold seat

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-48532869

The Labour Party has narrowly seen off a challenge from the Brexit Party and held on to its seat in the Peterborough by-election.

Union activist Lisa Forbes managed to retain the seat for Labour, winning 683 more votes than Nigel Farage's candidate Mike Greene.

Paul Bristow for the Conservatives came in third place.

Labour won a 31% share of the vote, with 10,484, down 17% on the 2017 election.

The Brexit Party won 29% of the votes with 9,801, with the Conservatives taking a 21% share with 7,243 votes.

Turnout for the Peterborough contest was 48.4%, down from the 67.5% turnout for the 2017 general election.
Surprise, surprise .....

I'm not in the least bit surprised.

I've been banging on about not writing Labour off for some time.

Labour appeal to a great many people who find their simple solutions both obvious and greatly needed.

Likewise their Jew Hatred which they believe is highly appropriate for all the same old same old reasons, and the BREXIT party to be intrinsically racist not to mention not being in the country's best interests.

Hi

It was a much lower turnout than in the General Election. down from 67% to below 50%.

If people do not bother to vote, they get what they deserve.
