Close vote like this shows how important a preferential system is. It would be interesting to see how the preferences flowed. You can't just add the totals up because that is not how preferences flow.

In the first past the post system no one 'scrapes' in you either win or you lose, Labour won, the rest lost.
Err, would you please remind Remainers about that fact. 52% for Leaving, 48% for Remaining.
