immigrants or whatever? The world is a different place now
and so called freedom of movement does not appear to
have improved it does it?
I remember about 65yrs ago l applied to emigrate to NZ and
I had to approach the NZ embassy with my details and then
fill in lots of forms regarding skills, education, etc and get
a police clearance certificate! Does this system still apply ?
Another question l think that needs answering is can ozzies
just jump on a plane and flit over to NZ without a passport?

Many forms to fill out, hoops to jump through, with restrictions tightening all the time.
For every potential stumbling block, there seems to be a loophole or easy get... I guess that is the way with 'systems'
To travel between Australia and NZ you need a valid passport, passing through the airport is as the same for any nationality

For someone totally gutted at what they see taking place but not gagged and crushed by laws it is understandable when they cut loose.
It will happen here in the UK soon. It is inevitable.
