Could you display....

A dead persons Christmas Card?

I have the last Christmas card mum ever sent me and also we have the last one from Tony's dad. I also have one from a very dear friend who died suddenly.

I keep these cards and look at them at Christmas but can't bring myself to display them.

I know somebody who displays all the cards from her dead relatives but I couldn't do it.

Could/would/do you?

Re: Could you display....

I keep close family ones of years ago when I was a small child and look at them from time to time, but never display them.

Re: Could you display....

Haven't got any and definitely wouldn't display them. Bit creepy.
Any memories and fond thoughts I have are safely housed in my head and in my heart where they'll remain until the day I join them.

Re: Could you display....

I've kept my last Christmas card and birthday card from my parents but have only looked at them a very few times. I couldn't ever display them with current cards though.

Re: Could you display....

Carol, Until reading this here, it is something l have never even thought about.

l have bits of paper with my mother’s writing on them that l keep and look at occasionally but that’s it.
If they were Christmas or Birthday cards, l would look at them but not display them.

Re: Could you display....

To keep cards old cards from a loved one who has died is not unusual. I have never heard of anyone displaying them, it sounds maudlin an odd thing to do so no I wouldn't display them .
