Re: I've had my chest x-ray

Yes, it briefly went over 40 in my left ear, and is a machine that I trust. I do feel better now, perhaps halfway recovered - it's strange, when I got up I was very ill. It bemuses me.

They've just taken an ECG reading.

They've now inserted a cannula and have taken blood.

Re: I've had my chest x-ray

I don't want to be kept in if at all possible, but I don't want them to miss anything, either. Something similar happened a few weeks ago, although not as intense as this, and I didn't phone the hospital.

If they've got my blood then surely they'll be able to tell what's wrong. I'd rather be watching tennis on my new TV.

Re: I've had my chest x-ray

The doctor says I have a pretty bad chest infection which would explain the spikes in temperature and the dehydration this morning. So pleased that they've worked out what it is and can do something about it.

I have to go for a chest x-ray to find out how large the affected area is and then they'll start me on antibiotics.

It could involve a stay in hospital, but I want to go home if at all possible

Re: I've had my chest x-ray

Thank you for keeping us updated Ffosse, perhaps a night in hospital for observation may be a good idea. You will get the best treatment there.

It's just that at the night I do weird things like sleepwalking or biting through saline drips. Can't explain it, I think it's the strange environment.

Oh poor Dreamy, just catching up here.
No wonder you have been feeling bad.
Thoughts and prayers sent.

I hope Val is OK.

Re: I've had my chest x-ray

Good news: I can get home with some oral antibiotics...and if they don't work, my GP will be able to prescribe something else

It's the first clue I've had about what is really wrong with me (apart from the cancer) and is good to have that knowledge.

I think if the doctor thought I was sicker than I am, he'd be keeping me in.

Re: I've had my chest x-ray

I’m waiting in for the district nurse to come to remove my chemo pump. I usually go to the local hospital but this time it needs removing on a weekend when the unit I use is closed. Not one of my better days, I’ve just had a little sleep but I’m not too bad really.

I’m pleased to hear your news Ffosse.
