Re: Crochet or knitting anyone,

Oh I can't knit, I have tried in the past. My mom used to say I should knit with a basket on my knee to catch all the dropped stitches!
I gave up in the end - ran out of baskets.... lol

Re: Crochet or knitting anyone,

I used to love knitting, jumpers, cardis, childrens items .... then we suddenly reached an era when it wasn't the "in thing" to wear hand knitted items.

The last things I knitted was cat jumpers for Cat Rescues where the cats fur was so matted and knotted that they had to be shaved. As many of the cats were housed in outdoor pens during winter months they needed that extra covering until their fur grew back.

Re: Crochet or knitting anyone,

Loads of knitting all the time, toys, jumpers, dog jumpers for my dog & the dogs home, I can crochet a little, mostly amigurumi creatures but, I've learned to make snowflakes on you-tube as I find patterns hard to follow. Now I have several, dozen!

@ Mags, good for you, knitting for the shaved cats. That's a wonderful thing you are doing. I'd hug you if I could.

Re: Crochet or knitting anyone,

No, I can't crochet or knit, but I do enjoy Cross stitch. Here's a sampler that I stitched... I should have Ironed it !!

BTW, it's on 16 count Aida and used patterns from a variety of sources.

Re: Crochet or knitting anyone,

I used to spend a lot of time working away from home and staying in hotels. A cross stitch was an easy thing to carry in my briefcase and I could get DMC cottons anywhere. When I was working in Finland, I stitched a picture of 'Thomas the Tank engine' for a Finnish colleague's son - my only commission!

Re: Crochet or knitting anyone,

Thanks Donnamarie. Out of interest, what part of RI are you in. I spent some time on business in Middletown, a bit north of Newport.
