I always have a bottle of water on the go and I sometimes have a couple of swigs during a meal if it's a bit stodgy.

I have tea afterwards.

I won't drink water during a meal, rather afterwards for some reason, or a cup of tea.

When I have wine with a meal I sip it, and perhaps leave half the glass for when the meal is finished to wash it down with.
