Doctors seem to be on a budget with prescriptions so give you the cheapest option of the same drug, but some people need the alternative ones, owing to side effects.Re: Changing Medications.

I was taken off a drug in my practice which I'd been on for 15 years - I could have told them what the consequences would be - racing heart, palpitations and heartburn. I had to go to the senior G.P. whose practice it is to get it re-instated.Re: Changing Medications.

There is a case to be made for tablet overprescribing, particularly tablets for mental health - anxiety, depression, mood altering antipsychotics.Re: Changing Medications.
My mother is currently in hospital and she took her tablets in with her. The hospital took them off her and gives her medication. Mum says some are different and she is not taking as many. For years she has eaten like a bird. Now in hospital she looks forward to her meals and eats them and a pudding.Re: Changing Medications.
