After the criticisms in past years, you'd imagine they'd have sorted themselves out by now.

The moral of the story: don't become ill in Shropshire!

Let's hope that those responsible for the shortcomings over the years receive their appropriate 'rewards'.

You mean "have been allowed to retire early with a golden handshake"?

Yes. I mean 'sweeping everything under the carpet'. It's what they do with senior management, not to say government ministers and senior civil servants.

Thankfully, we still have a free press who can explain things more accurately.

You cannot trust anyone these days - and that is shameful.

Re: My local NHS Trust

Hi

Another update.

https://www.shropshirestar.com/news/...-report-finds/

It is a nightmare.

I was discharged from Stoke into the care of the Cardiac Rehab Team at Shrewsbury on August 4th.

They are supposed to take over care of Heart Attack Patients straight away

I have been trying to get the necessary treatment since then,

I have rung them direct on the number given by Stoke.

They said sorry, no referral received.

Rang Stoke, yes we have, we will send another.

Thursday afternoon I got a letter, my post comes late.

From Shrewsbury with a patient reference number saying a referral had been made and would be addressed in due course, but not before September.

The letter was dated 6th August.

The number given was engaged all afternoon.

Got through yesterday morning,

It had been sent to the wrong place, a simple Cardiology referral,

Managed to get through to a Manager, who said it would be dealt with immediately.

It hasn't been.

So much for our world class NHS.

Re: My local NHS Trust

I had an appointment for diabetic eye check last week . I had received a confirmation letter a month before so it was in my diary. Then a week before I received a reminder which included 2 leaflets about diabetes , 3 days before I received another reminder . After my appointment I wrote thanking the appointments manager for my excellent eye test but asked why was the need for thre letters including 2 leaflets . I mentioned the postage, the hours used by staff to remind me three times , oh and I forgot I got a phone call reminder as well . I was told it was all in error etc and wont happen again . I'll take bets on that

Of course forgotten appointments must be so frustrating and expensive but I think it's a bit over the top . The financial side of it worries me to .
