They have stated they want disability payments to go down to the same as unemployed people get, to me this is evil, unemployment is a temporary payment to catch and help people between work it's not for life, people on disibility need to be able to live life to the full not scrabble around like the unemployed for every penny.

They talk of disabled people seeking work as if being disabled is a temporary state: able bodied people often find it difficult to get work. Disabled people are doubly disadvantaged when it comes to job seeking. I agree with you, Julie, everyone deserves a decent life free from the worry of not having enough to live on.

Unfortunately some people do over do their disability and use it as an excuse not to work, this has a negative effect on those that can't work.

I personally cannot see most disabilities being a reason not to work, it's just an excuse to many.

..Especially the face stuffing fatties, who consider being fat a disability. Even though it's self inflicted. They annoy me more than anyone.

Depends what the work as many manual workers can't get easier jobs in offices etc what are they to do ? They can't do their original job but can't get other work we either support them or throw them away.
Plumber near us has been off since he had a knee replacement he will never be able to kneel again so can't do his job, he has applied for hundreds of jobs no one wants someone who has been his own boss, is unable to kneel etc.
