Not surprising.
Nope, Barnier is failing miserably. They could have signed up a gold plated offer from the UK with free access to our single market, tariff and quota free, but instead they are putting it at risk by asking for things that are not part of the discussions (fisheries and level playing field).

As the days move on and our trade deals with other countries come closer to agreement, the EU single market doesn't look as attractive as it did 4 years ago.

Perhaps the 27 should follow the UK example and honor their treaty commitments like we are.
The world is watching Brexit.

I think they can see what is going on and can make up their own minds about how both sides are behaving.

We, the UK, are behaving honourably.

The EU are not. France, especially, is taking our money to prevent illegal migration and immediately turning a blind eye to such attempts, whether it is hiding in lorries or setting off on dinghies.

The world now knows that France is a country without honour. Will others trust them in the future?

Germany too - and Spain.

Look at how many times Spain breaches the Treaty of Utrecht by sending its warships into our Territorial waters around Gibraltar. Over 90 times they have done this so far the year and again the idiots in the EU commission turn a blind eye.

I agree about Spain. I think what they're doing is just spite and attempts at face-saving because they are not getting what they want - Gibraltar.

They can't do anything about it on two counts: attempts to take it by force would be in contravention of international law; it would also fail because we'd wipe the floor with them.

I'm not sure exactly what Germany is guilty of, though. Of course, as I have mentioned, Murky invited all the rubbish in in the first place, but apart from that I can't think of anything they have done specifically against us.

I have mentioned before that France is our traditional enemy: one would expect them to do the dirty on us. However, if you look back in history you'll see that Germany has been our ally most of the time - Royal connections, of course - apart from two notable occasions in the 20th century.

That treaty is a few centuries old, and time hasn't stood still. In january this year your HoC ratified the withdrawal agreement. There was a gibraltar protocol annexed to that. This protocol is the new international agreement on gibraltar. Didn't you know?

It was Spain that signed the treaty of Utrecht We should demand that they give back Melilla and Ceuta and kick up a fuss about that.

Germany ... invited 1 million migrants over, then allowed them free travel through the EU where a lot of them ended up in the UK. While Germany was allowed to pay them 10,000 Euros each to "go home" the UK was never allowed the same. Merkel nearly lost her job over it (she should have gone) and misery was inflicted around Europe from the various terrorist attacks that became of it.

Now, as the EU 27 virtue signal their human rights records and lie about how the EU helps poor people and poorer nations etc, these migrants live in polythene tents all over European cities in squalid conditions with no help, support or anything from these idiots that thought it was a good idea for them to come over. The UK in the meantime has no such migrant camps and those that do come here are housed, fed, clothed and looked after, not dumped, forgotten and left to rot in the rows of tents, bin bags and make shift shanty towns so prevalent now in other parts of the EU.

The EU is not what it claims to be. It's a big lie - and another reason why the EU has not signed up to the EHCR. It can't, it would never achieve it's requirements and it couldn't afford to even try.

The EU Parliament, however, shows no signs of cutting back on the billions it spends on inflated salaries, chauffeur driven cars, free private education for MEP's children, tax free shopping, luxury hotels, extended paid for holidays, tax free breaks, huge expense accounts that require no receipts etc etc etc. There they sit in their big glass fully air conditioned offices while the migrants they invited, live in squalid conditions in the EU 27 like that seen in Calcutta, Delhi and Say Paolo.

Boy! Must you feel impotent at being unable to influence any of that. On the bright side, you have all the time now to work at improving britain.

You should sort your own problems out - as usual your looking to the UK to sort out the mess you make for yourselves.

It just shows how "impotent" the EU is when you still look outside your own socialist disaster to get help.

It's pitiful to see wealthy nations in the EU treat people they invite over as third class citizens.

But predictable.

I'd quite forgotten about those 2 Spanish enclaves in Morocco. Thanks for reminding me. IIRC there was a TV programme about them some time ago. The locals don't like being part of Spain.

Exactly. Like I said, we behave honourably; the EU has no honour.

Unfortunately, in behaving honourably, we are at the same time creating an ongoing problem for ourselves.

What to do?

Do third countries - responsible ones: US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, etc. - respect the way we are behaving?
