Re: Leisurely Scribbles (part 5)

Well I have just stopped laughing about Gummys' comment about the fence.
There are times when little things just send me into fits of giggles.

Lovely posts today btw.
I was actually referring to what do you want to be when you grow up, at a much younger age. I still have lots of my school stuff from Infant school. I wrote that I wanted to be a builder. I read that the other day. I am still struggling to sort through my late Mother's stuff. I can only remember being fascinated by the new houses being built in Windsor.
I still remember it was a field. Stupid I know. Windsor my place of birth, has not changed that much really.

Re: Leisurely Scribbles (part 5)

What is it that makes men dress up as women?
I am not referring here to transsexuals, transgender, misleaders or any others who may have difficulties in finding their intended or adopted sexual orientation.
No, that’s a whole new discussion. Pursue it if you wish, chums.

I mean the custom of men dressing up as women, largely in the theatre or entertainment. Pantomime comes to mind.
Is it, like the case with Ventriloquists, disguising themselves as women, certain men find deep recognition and liberation in expressing their inner beliefs, often in an outrageous way?
Barry Humphreys is a classy examp0le. Old Time music hall would have been all the poorer without Danny La Rue.
Moving on to Drag Queens, Ru Paul reigns supreme, now that Divine has passed.

Pantomime is full of Widow Twankey lookalikes.

I see this subject broadening when we come to consider modern dames, Paul O Grady, Christopher Biggins, and Melvin Hayes et al.
Knickers are all I have to say on this topic
