Sorry Baz, I was being sarcastic.

I just thought it was patronising to say ' to help us choose the right fuel' because I would imagine we all knew what flippin' fuel we needed anyway.

No problem Mups, until I bought this car, my first diesel, I knew nothing about this safety feature.
I have been into motorcycles and cars for nearly 50+ years, all my adult life, so others possibly may not know this either.

Re: Petrol changes

I've just found this thread, and I'm glad I did. Thank you.

How utterly stupid.

I couldn't care less whether they want to add 'E5' or whatever, if it makes them feel they are 'saving the planet'. I'd have thought that sensible adults wouldn't have fallen for all that 'eco-warrior' nonsense anyway.

But why, for God's sake, couldn't they just manage to keep the simple words 'PETROL' and 'DIESEL' as well?

Re: Petrol changes

A previous owner of our local garage was caught watering down the fuel in the tanks. He did a runner back to his own country before he got taken to court.
new owners have really made an effort with new shop and food eating area inside

Re: Petrol changes

I can't understand why there has been no publicity about this change?
I would have thought it would have been advertised to give us some warning about the coming change.

Re: Petrol changes

Has anyone noticed any of the other supermarkets' filling stations making this change, or is it just Waitrose so far?
I fill up at the comparatively bargain basement Tesco but haven't heard about a change there yet.
