Re: 9/11 Anniversary
Thoughts and prayers go out today for the friends and families of the many people who lost their lives this nightmarish day 9/11. I remember crying as I watched the horror unfold right before my eyes on TV. Also thinking of all of you my friends who will too be feeling just as I am feeling today as we are reminded of this horrible catastrophe. (hugs) xxxxxRe: 9/11 Anniversary
I knew it was the anniversary today but had no idea it was a much as eighteen years ago. How time flies, for us anyway but not for those who lost loved ones. I remember thinking on that day that the World would never be the same again and I suppose that I was right.Re: 9/11 Anniversary
I was reading extracts from those who were there, in my paper today. It was so harrowing. The bit that made my heart lurch was the one extract from a fire chief who had to warn those on the ground to watch out for ''jumpers''. He said there were people on the ledges making a daisy chain and jumping together. One fireman was killed when he was hit by a falling person. He was the first fireman to die that day.
