M6 Coventry: 'Drunk' lorry driver fell on to motorway

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-englan...shire-51082515

A driver who was reported as being in cardiac arrest after falling from the cab of his lorry was actually over the drink drive limit, police have said.

Warwickshire Police said it was called after the man ended up lying in lane one of the M6 northbound at junction two, Coventry, on Saturday night.

The motorway was closed and an ambulance was called, police said. The man was later arrested.

The driver provided a reading almost three times the drink drive limit once in police custody, said officers.

He will be remanded to appear in court on Monday, they added.
I hope the charges won't be simply for drunk driving .....

In his condition he could have "wiped out" dozens of other motorway users with his lorry .....

Thank goodness he managed to stop before he passed out, and very lucky he did not kill anyone. Maybe he was trying to get out but being so drunk lost his balance and fell.

Ah yes.... probably. I was thinking he fell out while driving along but I reckon he would have come off a lot worse.

That's what I thought too, Cinders.
Probably stopped for a wee.

In court today. There has been no mention of the guy's nationality at all.

Drunk driver banned after falling from lorry cab on M6

Pawel Kwik, 31, of Wojsławice, Poland, was disqualified from driving for 22 months after admitting drink driving at Leamington Spa Magistrates' Court.

Kwik was also fined £416 and told to pay a victim surcharge of £31 and costs of £135.
Somehow, I don't think a ban and fine will bother Mr. Kwik .....
