Re: Female Kestrel

took a peak at your exif on that photo.
a 500mm lens on a D500 is equal with a 1.5 crop factor to 750mm. That is a hell of a distance to get a shot. Camera must have been on a mono/tripod I would have thought. Interesting the camera settings you used and editing software
That is a photo well out of reach of camera gear that I have so well done

How beautiful. I never knew Kestrels had so much blue in their plumage.

My lens isn't the 500mm f4 which weighs 3090g. I have the D500 and 500PF combo which adds up to 2220g - a lot lighter and I can manage even with my dodgy back. All my shots are hand held - unless I can lean on something.
What is so interesting about my settings and editing suite? I have only just purchased Lightroom 9.1 and still trying it out. I thought that you had some telephoto lenses?

Re: Female Kestrel

My longest lens is the Nikon AFS 80-400mm f4.5-5.6 G ED N lens and weighes in at 3.1 lb so quite a lump, hence thinking tripod. Cost around £1800 I bought new ,so have to take care of it.
