Good evening everybody. Terrible news about the fire in London. Met up with some friends here today for lunch. Jac do you remember River Lady she is through here for a few days with one of her friends.

Been out all day so didn't hear of the fire until late afternoon. It seems to be one disaster after another atm.

Rob's 53rd birthday today, Joy and the little boys came over this afternoon and we had tea and cake. We have loads of Maltesers - enough to keep us going for weeks.!

Been out to Bank and Chemist , nice and sunny but the breeze is quite cool , just shut my window .

I was talking with my next door neighbour this morning about how we would get out in a fire . We are 4 floors up in the front but can get out to ground level through a walkway out the back . Makes you think. My daughter told me that the high rise flats in town have just been done up with what looks like the same type of cladding .
I thought it was lovely to see the Queen and William talking to some of the people , puts Teresa May to shame .
Overcast here with a chill wind .Don't know where the heatwave is

I bet there's a lot of people checking their fire escapes and wondering what is on the front of their buildings.

I have just dropped a Malteser and the dog is going bananas trying to reach it under the base of the desk!
