Re: The Supernatural

Well said, Realist.
And I love your screen name announcing how true all of it really is.

Re: The Supernatural

I have read many theories regarding death.
The one I like and also have a little fear of is:
What ever you believe will happen when you leave your body . . . does happen.
When I read all the writings of disbelief in the "hereafter," I get the willies for them.
Seems they will be having a blank time of it.

Re: The Supernatural

Oh boy. We have a thread called "Super-natural".
But only true believers are permitted to express an opinion.
That sounds fair ... lol

Look, I believed in this stuff well into my twenties.
Been to more seances and seen more "unexplainables" than you can poke a stick at.
But I grew up.
We humans can convince ourselves of anything - and you mix that with a large dose of wishful thinking about a hereafter and otherwise smart people seem incapable of facing reality.

Not a tiny tad of demonstrable evidence exists.
Not a skerrick.
Only delusion and illusion and over-worked imagination.

If anyone thinks otherwise, I will happily examine their evidence ...
not tall tales about "some spook I saw umpteen years ago" though.

Re: The Supernatural

And as with so many things no proof they don't/can't exist either but some who don't believe think they are always right.

I have to say I think exactly the same Mlee, that whatever you believe will happen when you leave your body WILL happen.
I have my own thoughts on what will happen and where I will go when I die ,im not afraid of dying one little bit ,I am afraid of the manner in which I die though.

It is up to the person postulating a theory to prove their case.
We cannot prove a negative.

If I say that Kennedy was killed by an assassin from planet Pluto,
it is up to me to show why that is so.
It is silly for me to simply say "you prove I'm wrong".
You can't.
But that doesn't make the proposition more believable.

All you've done with that post is prove that you, personally, have closed your mind to the possibility that anything that can't be quantified can exist.
Not everyone thinks that ... a great many simply acknowledge that they don't know and so keep an open mind.
