Re: Does anyone seriously believe Huawei pose a threat to USA security?

I think the biggest threat to US security may possibly be the US security services themselves!

As exposed and highlighted by Wikileaks - They, we (UK), and all our allies are spying on each other. No doubt `we` spy on the Chinese, Russians, North Koreans and everyone else in the world. Chinese interloping is a drop in the ocean when compared to that of our so-called friends and allies.

Any personal information, banking, friends, contacts, business information such as presentations to my clients, reports, proposals etc.

Just some examples.

Hi

A fact of life, rely on our experts, of which I am most certainly not one.

I have absolute faith in GCHQ, their decision, not the Politicians.

In terms of surveillance, you are at far more at risk if you have a Rewards Card.

I am still involved with two ongoing Cases.

I have a secure connection for that and that alone.

I do not have a VPN, Whats app etc, my life is so boring that nobody is interested at all.

I watched the F1 live streaming, did not pay for it and the powers that be are in no way interested.

I could arrange a gang bang with the local vicars wife and they are not interested.

Buy drugs, people trafficking, child pornography, how to make bombs and yes they are.

Get real, we simply do not have the resources to track everyone.

Your Enforcement Agencies have been decimated by Theresa May.

We do not even have the resources to track known terrorists.

You're probably right to be worried, my contacts in Beijing told me that Xi Jinping was discussing your presentations only a couple of days ago.

If you look at what's happening in the USA, there are a number of copyright court cases between the USA and China.

Huwawei's CFO is already facing criminal charges for theft of trade secrets.

A lot of my presentations contain very confidential information on my clients.

Re: Does anyone seriously believe Huawei pose a threat to USA security?

I think the important thing to realise is that it's not our personal information that they're interested in but the information that passes between governmental organisations and between international organisations like NATO and the UN and various other bodies and our defence systems setup.

In business the Chinese are notorious the hacking and stealing plans blueprints and information about new products or inventions techniques and duplicating them. Copyright and intellectual property rights are no bar to them and that they have been practising it for years.

It's also important to realise that they are not talking about the hardware contained in mobile phones but more about the transmission and receiving hardware. Even though their access would be restricted as the government claims, to the non-technical side of the networks, the proposal is that they contribute to building the masts and some other non-essential parts of the infrastructure for 5G. It doesn't take too much imagination to imagine them planting listening or spying devices in such things and stealing the information that is transmitted say, between governments and their allies or arms manufacturing companies. Or even planting a device to jam the communication system in order to facilitate something much worse such as an attack. You have to do wonder if it's worth the risk.

Re: Does anyone seriously believe Huawei pose a threat to USA security?

Well I couldn't give much less of a damm about security and the emergency kiddie phone that I leave in my car thought that G4 was some sort of thong so I decided it was time --- and I bought a Huawei Y6 brand new for just under a ton. It was delivered this morning.

Feature rich - but performance lacking where signal acquisition is involved.

OK it'll do, but not a patch on my elderly LG thing. Really all I want where mobile phones are concerned is a "statue".
