Yep - that's what I usually do - will have another look, when I cool down

Re: Kettles

Another things that bugged me when I had to get a new kettle recently, was the size of them. They're making a lot of them big enough to boil a bathful of water, and there's only me!
Yes, I know I can just put a small amount of water in, but I wish they made slightly smaller kettles for singles as well.

Re: Kettles

I remember reading some time ago that electric kettles are set to boil for between 1 and 3 minutes in order to kill bacteria/microbes etc.

Mups you could use a travel kettle, they are small but hold enough water for two small mugs.

Re: Kettles

I usually buy kettles from Argos, they don't last long these days and it is not far to go if it breaks and I need to swap it.
Argos do reviews like Amazon.

My last one was a Bosch and it has lasted well....so far

Re: Kettles

I must be lucky. I think I've had my present kettle for about 15 years!

I love Bosch, I think they are the best actually.
My Washer/dishwasher/iron/double oven are all made by Bosch, never bought a kettle by Bosch yet, watch this space and I would like a bosch Vacuum but the one I have wont break down

Re: Kettles

Been using one like this for what seems years, unlike those plastic things it does not leak around the view panel after a short time.

ww.clasohlson.com/uk/Morphy-Richards-Pyramid-Kettle/18-4609-1?gclid=CJbbxfbXnMcCF

As people have posted, seems like it stays on for too long when boiled.
Other pains similar are bathroom fan heaters and thermal cutouts, mine will be shorted out soon, by me.

Buy one of those new kettles for wetter water.
