Trump’s false or misleading claims total 30,573 over 4 years

https://www.washingtonpost.com/polit...er-four-years/

When The Washington Post Fact Checker team first started cataloguing President Donald Trump’s false or misleading claims, we recorded 492 suspect claims in the first 100 days of his presidency. On Nov. 2 alone, the day before the 2020 vote, Trump made 503 false or misleading claims as he barnstormed across the country in a desperate effort to win reelection.

This astonishing jump in falsehoods is the story of Trump’s tumultuous reign. By the end of his term, Trump had accumulated 30,573 untruths during his presidency — averaging about 21 erroneous claims a day.

What is especially striking is how the tsunami of untruths kept rising the longer he served as president and became increasingly unmoored from the truth.

Trump averaged about 6 claims a day in his first year as president, 16 claims day in his second year, 22 claims day in this third year — and 39 claims a day in his final year. Put another way, it took him 27 months to reach 10,000 claims and an additional 14 months to reach 20,000. He then exceeded the 30,000 mark less than five months later.
The fact checks in the database amount to about 5 million words and many include links to sources that debunk Trump’s statements.
Was there ever such a blatant liar (apart from Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini, etc.) .....

Washington Post is ANOTHER crap newspaper. It's got an awful rep, worse even than Pravda had back in the day - and that was pretty bad.

A second impeachment is not a wise move. There can be no winners, this is just a poltical vendetta. Democrats will have to answer to the people eventually and have lost all credibility.

Trump is a compulsive liar. You don't have to read that in the newspapers. Anybody who has listened to him for more than a couple of minutes cannot be left in any doubt about it. He even lies when there is absolutely no reason to lie.

Demonising Trump before the court hearing will seriously back fire on the Democrats when/if impeachment fails again.

The public are much smarter to be brainwashed by media conditioning.

The 15 most notable lies of Donald Trump's presidency

https://edition.cnn.com/2021/01/16/p...ies/index.html

Trump was not your traditional political liar. One of his distinguishing features is that he lied pointlessly.

The most telling lie: It didn't rain on his inauguration

It did

The most dangerous lie: The coronavirus was under control

It wasn't

The most alarming lie saga: Alabama was one of the states at greater risk from Hurricane Dorian than had been initially forecast.

It wasn't

Trump embarked on an increasingly farcical campaign to prove that his incorrect Alabama tweet was actually correct, eventually showcasing a hurricane map that was crudely altered with a Sharpie (marker pen).
Details of the 3 lies above and the other dozen are contained in the article .....

To many of us, Trump's lies are ludicrous nonsense. But to millions of deluded Americans, it's the truth. With the Capitol insurrection he fomented, Trump has shown us, once more, just how detached from reality much of his political base has become -- or always was.
Indeed .....
