Re: fork lift course

I'm not sure that's fair, when you have been seeking work for a while it's extremely hard to even motivate yourself to get out there and try again so IMO Steve is doing extremely well still applying for jobs.

Re: fork lift course

To be honest, when I worked in a garden centre (the best job I ever had) our fork lift examine, for all of us who wanted to take it, was all done early one morning before we opened. We all passed and had a friendly breakfast after, with the examiner in the café.

Re: fork lift course

Yup I passed
However not the way i would have liked to ..as i said the instructor was a dick ..he thought it would be very funny to ridicule people and wind them up ....who likes their family name taken in vain and insulted ..well i dont he was a big headed bully ....after struggling with unfamiliar equipment ..both myself and the other pupil had had enough of him and put him straight ..and it also turned out the truck steering had or developed a fault which caused unforced errors for us ...only when it broke down totally did he take notice and stopped taking the Pee...he then had to assess us on our theory knowledge Health and safety and the driving ability we had before the breakdown ...fortunately we both had scored enough points to pass , so we did not have to do the full practical test so he took into account the mock test he done earlier ...but a pass is a pass and if it opens a few more doors it all helps ..

PS Plantman ...It was not a excuse it was the facts...How could I make an excuse fore a failure when it hadn't happened ...I may be good but I am not a clairvoyant..

Re: fork lift course

Thanks all ...yesterday I got a recorded delivery document envelope in the post ...it had a certification of training letter and 4 City & Guilds certificates in it , they were for the training courses on the counterbalance fork lift which included warehousing as well that I passed before Xmas ....I will probably get another set for this last one ....I have only ever had 1 certificate before , and now they come in 4's lol...
Next week I am going to a professional company to get another CV done ...This one will be specifically designed to enhance the my Fork truck and warehousing experience (now i have a Licence).that i gained 30 years ago....
