Re: Over 50's Club Scotland (part 3)

Morning All Damp Foggy and cold here today, but still went along the beach with the dog and had a bit of a sit down on a sandy bank, took one of those big bags for life with me to sit on so no numb wet bum.
I used to have a good bit of Gaelic growing up May as it was widely spoken on the island and my dad spoke it a lot and he taught me a good bit. Lost it after we moved to the mainland though, and I was aye away with friends.

Good morning May, well almost anyway. Hope you are well? I just about caught one of your rare posts so thought I would say "good morning" to you and to all in Scotland.

It will take me an age to decipher your post properly, I can almost manage that and even tried to learn more quickly from the video below, but it takes far too long.

Perhaps in a few months when I become more fluid in the Scottish accent!

Same here May, long time no see and thanks for the 'young', if only you knew!

I did manage to translate one word, with the help of a dictionary, see link below:

https://www.dsl.ac.uk/entry/snd/sndns520

Have also made an attempt, without the dictionary, to translate the remainder of your post, what do you reckon:

"Good morning all you good lassies, it's been a foggy wet one here so did not go for a walk.

I'm feeling a bit rebellious so am doing the posts on here in broad Scots. I would do them in Gaelic but I know you would not understand them and I would not get away with it.

See you all later and remember to keep your chin up, or in my case (chins)"

Re: Over 50's Club Scotland (part 3)

Good evening ladies it was a cold one here with touch of fog. Roxy glad you finally heard from the elusive doctor, more pills. Lets hope the physio can help you with your back. Nice one May. Hi Baz good to see you and Mags dropping in. Did some shopping today and tomorrow I want to get some new cushions.
