Incidently being as it's propped up on the floor the painting is full of collie hairs incorporated in the paint .
Us artists can't be doing with housework .

This is the horse I would love to own .
Powerful with presence
It's a Spanish 'baroque 'horse .
I spend quite a lot of time in Spain so see a lot of Spanish horses so he's a conglomeration of several I have seen.
I look at pictures on the internet for reference -position of legs etc but I'm not sure that's always a good idea .
The camera catches horses in awkward positions .
In this case the horse is just striking off from trot to canter .
I liked it at the time I started not so sure now !
I used to know a man who loved painting horses he told me first you have to understand their biology and what muscles are where....like you he loved horses it shows through
Muddy its lovely , when I look at the horse I can feel its quietness as it trots around happily , the muscles on its body , cleverly done , very clever , how satisfying for you too .
