Car - Black box

Heard this morning that this box when fitted measures speed etc and if you have one, insurance will be around 25 per cent less. Great idea for youngsters who pay a fortune for insurance and would make them take better care hopefully.
The car cam is a great idea too

The dash cam is the better idea, the black box could actually increase your insurance premiums if the insurance company decide that you are a bad risk, it just looks like big brother for the insurance companies to me.

Re: Car - Black box

My daughter got a new Fiat 500 on lease and had a "black box" fitted to save on insurance.

You get an email and/or alert on your phone app when you go too far over the speed limit.

It doesn't have a negative effect on your next policy if you're sensible, if you're not then don't get one.

Can you go over the speed limit in a Fiat 500 ?

I have heard that they can not go up some hills.

When I was looking at Fiats last autumn, I asked the Fiat dealers about this problem.
I can't tell you now exactly what he said now, but apparently it really was a problem on some models a good while back, but Fiat have sorted it.

I guess a salesman would say that!
Anyhow, I bought a little Panda, and I love it, and it doesn't struggle with hills at all.
