I liked all of them but think my favourites were Wagon Train and Rawhide.

I have no idea, but:

Lash of the West is an American Western drama series that aired on ABC on Sunday night at 6:30 p.m Eastern time from January 4, 1953 to April 26, 1953. The series was essentially put together using clips from 1940s B-grade Western movies.

When I was growing up most of the older westerns had more or less died out in the late 1970's. TV was geared more towards U.S. cop series.

I've just started watching the complete box set of Deadwood, which is set in the 19th Century and is part-factual with its characters such as Wild Bill Hickock and Calamity Jane.
It stars Ian McShane and Keith Carradine amongst other stars and is proving to be excellent with the first three episodes I watched back-to-back last night. Very violent though.
